Barcelona
Still as part of its tourist project 03 in Barcelona, le gramme was also interested in the architecture of this iconic city. Erwan Le Louër, our ceo & designer, passionate about contemporary art and design, focused his attention on two emblematic buildings of the city: the Mies Van Der Rohe pavilion and the Massana design school.
Built in 1929 by the German architect Mies Van Der Rohe, this pavilion is one of the most significant monuments in the history of modern architecture; and this in particular thanks to the alliance of its minimal forms, innovative construction principles and materials such as marble, travertine or red onyx.
More recently, it was in 2017 that the Spanish architect Carme Pinós completed the building of the Massana design school. Its major interest lies in its overall structure imagined as a monolithic sculpture with cut sides clad in ceramic panels, in contrast with the old buildings around.
each of these two creations mixes horizontality and verticality of volumes and materials. We find there the taut and refined lines which evoke the work of the guilloché work of the material, signature of some of our creations.
