Gold 750

Passionate about the material, the LE GRAMME creative project explores the possibilities offered by precious metal. 925 silver was his first subject of reflection before being joined by 750 Gold.

Because gold is cosmic. We still wonder about its origins, gold would come from a rare cosmic cataclysm, the collision between two supernovas exploding into a cloud of neutrons allowing its formation. A shock such that it generates an oscillation in the curvature of space-time. Before emerging 200 million years ago in the Earth's mantle, gold would therefore be extra-terrestrial.

Because gold is multi-colored. Yellow, red or white gold, 750-18 carat gold crafted by LE GRAMME is composed of 750/1000th pure gold and a mixture of 250/1000th copper and silver. Varying proportions of copper and silver result in gold colors ranging from yellow to red. In its variation of rings with a smooth imprint and polished finish, LE GRAMME uses the three colors of gold.

Because gold is a rarity. At a rate of 5 mg per ton of earthly matter, if we brought together all the Gold extracted since antiquity and still buried to this day, we would obtain a cube with “only” 21 meters of edges and weighing 200,000 tons.

Because gold is unalterable. Whatever is done to it, gold remains intact whether it is submerged or buried; its nature and weight will never vary. Indestructible and infinitely reusable, its quantity present on earth will never increase or decrease whatever its transformation. The alliances made by LE GRAMME echo this immutable character of the material and the feeling of love.

Because gold is sacred. Gold has always been associated with the divine, because it is synonymous with immortality. The Egyptians considered that the flesh of the gods was made of gold, the Hebrews freed from the yoke of Pharaoh cast their jewelry in mythical golden calf which earned them divine sanction and the end of the tables of the law. In India, the quantity of gold from offerings in temples is currently estimated at more than 22,000 tonnes, enough to please the goddess Lakshmi. Common to all religions, the law of reciprocity “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” sanctifies the purity of the heart and so aptly bears its name the Golden Rule.

Because gold is haunting. Conquer the New World, live the Californian dream, rush for gold... even if it means destroying the Aztec, Inca and Native American civilizations; Man's passion for Gold has been unwavering since he extracted its first nuggets 7000 years ago. And it is not King Midas, Scrooge or Gollum who will say the opposite, especially since silence is golden.

Because gold is agile. Gold is so malleable that a single gram of stretched gold can make a wire 3 km long or a sheet 3m2. Guided by the hand of the craftsman in the LE GRAMME workshops, Gold is transformed through variations of men's bracelets and smooth or guilloché rings with patterns revealing its ever-solar radiance.

LE GRAMME uses 750 Gold in the following variations: Ribbon Bracelets Variation 750 Yellow and Red Gold Smooth Polished and Smooth Brushed, Cable Variations 750 Yellow Gold Smooth Polished, Rings Variation 750 White, Yellow and Red Gold Smooth Polished and Smooth Brushed, Variation Rings White, yellow and red gold 750 Polished pyramid guilloché.
